A good surrogacy agency matches surrogates with hopeful people who want to have a baby. They thoroughly screen potential surrogates and parents and guide them through the entire process, including timely disbursement of funds to the surrogate, and providing support until a short while after delivery.
But, not all surrogacy agencies are created equal.
There are so many parties involved in the delicate emotional, legal and financial process and agency oversight is a must.

She’s been a surrogate three times…

Sunshine is fiercely independent, pragmatic and resourceful. As a teen mom, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Education from CSULB and went on to teach High School English, empowering students who needed to feel seen and heard by teaching them the art of written expression.
It was the example of a friend that inspired Sunshine to go out on a limb and try something as “crazy” as surrogacy and it absolutely changed her life for the better.
Sunshine has helped to bring four babies into the world, completing two families, across two continents, not including her own!

One of the most common things people will say to someone on a surrogacy journey is, “𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙙𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙥𝙩?”
Most people don’t mean this comment to be hurtful, but sadly, it can be. When someone can build a family without any interventions they aren’t questioned why they didn’t just adopt instead. Adoption is so beautiful. It’s just not the right answer for everyone… and that’s okay.
Many parents will pursue surrogacy instead because:

💜 They’ve already created their own embryos and want to use them
💜They want to be more involved in the pregnancy
No matter the reasons, no one should feel shamed for how they build their family. Everyone deserves love and support as they work towards the dream of having a child of their own, no matter what path they take!

A gestational surrogate will never be asked to use her own eggs in a surrogacy journey. ❌
With gestational surrogacy, there’s no biological relation between a surrogate and her surro-babe. Embryos are created with the intended parents` sperm and eggs or donor sperm and eggs. The surrogate is just providing her body as the oven to help their baby grow.
You may have also heard about traditional surrogacy, which is the process when a surrogate’s eggs are used in the journey, but this option isn’t widely practiced. Surrogacy Is does not work with any traditional surrogacy journeys because of the legal and ethical uncertainties that may come up.
